In week three, I introduce a craft to illustrate the capacity of consciousness to hold two seemingly divergent ideas. The first is represented in the term LOCAL. It is the idea that your movement toward enlightenment is a linear process that begins with movement from the collective overcoming distraction to experience the exterior stage. The linear journey continues as you overcome isolation to arrive in the individual stage. Once you accept your responsibility, you can move into the interior stage–the stage most identified with enlightenment.
The second divergent idea is represented in the term NON-LOCAL. Consider that you can hold all these in a non-linear fashion in the form of states. Indeed, the craft illustrates that the linear structure described in LOCAL can be folded 3-dimensionally to form a cube. The revelation is that both these, LOCAL and NON-LOCAL are true at the same time. Your task is to gain from the certainty seems to arise from linearity while at the same time benefit from the freedom and options of the cube. You must comfort in the opening of the box to explore new information AND joy in the closing of the box to represent a solid whole.
