I don’t know if anyone else remembers The Wonder Twins from Super friends. They first appeared in 1977. They were a brother and sister duo that had the power to form into whatever they wanted. The power was activated when they touched their fists together and said, “Wonder twin powers activate!” As a child watching this cartoon I thought, “That’s a pretty cool super power.” In my adult years, I think about the power I have. I challenge you to take a moment to think about the power you have. Have you been able to activate it? I will share three important steps that I feel are helpful.
What you believe is going to dictate how you behave and what you say. That’s why this first point is so important to grasp. The Wonder Twins embraced such a belief in the power they possessed that when they were about to be attacked they would immediately activate it. This is not something they were infused with at that very moment of trouble. This power was a part of their inner being. They operated in the power that they believed they had.
I went to this church meeting years ago and a man was up ministering to the congregation about faith. The congregation was shouting and praising God. Then came the call. “If you have faith,” the man said, “that God will bless you with the things you want then bring your money up, and get what I have for you.”
Well, I went up gave my dollar offering which got me a 5×7 picture of a bowl of fruit. Apparently if you gave more, you got something different. The man instructed us to look at the picture and see our blessing. I took that picture home and stared at it awhile. I soon realized that this is not how you get blessed.
That was an eye opening experience for me. As I reflected on the experience, I took some time to question and research what I believed. That search for meaning empowered me to activate my power to live a life worthy of every good thing I asked for. As a result of this activation, what I wanted began to manifest in my life.
Your behavior is the result of what you believe. The Wonder Twins physically positioned themselves to do battle against their attacker. When the duo put their fists together, their power was activated. They were able to form into whatever they wanted.
We are taught so much throughout our life. We are influenced by the beliefs of our parents, the company we keep, and information we read and observe. There may be a point in your life where you might have said, “I just want to do what’s right,” or “I want to be righteous.” Behavior is the evidence of righteousness. You activate righteousness through discipline.
Discipline in behavior allows you to expect with confidence what you ask for or call into existence. Let me stress the word discipline. Being disciplined is the way you live in every area of your life. It is not just “doing something for the moment” kind of thing. Your strength and power comes as a reward of discipline. Discipline is the fist bump activating your power. You have evidence through your behavior that you are entitled to what you ask for.
Positive speech is wonderful, but if it’s not connected with what you believe; it is useless to you. It is even less effective when your behavior demonstrates something different. Can you imagine what would have happened to the Wonder Twins if they lacked confidence in speaking what they wanted in the moment of trouble? Their attacker would have defeated them. They spoke with authority, calling into existence their hearts desire. Your talk has to be in line with your belief and your behavior. All have to agree.
I learned that when you truly believe something, it is what comes out of your mouth. With your tongue you confirm your belief and speak out power. That power is supported by the life you live. It is rehearsed in your mind with each consistent behavior. Your final step of activation is to speak your desires into existence.
When you find out you are not getting the outcomes you hoped for, it is time to evaluate what you believe. I believe the points presented are important to getting you back on track. Why not activate your power through belief, behavior, and speaking? You may not have a twin to bump fists with, but you have a life to live and power to activate. Activate a powerful life!
